Obituary of Patsy V. Mei

PATSY V. “PAT” MEI, of South Hackensack , died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the age of 83. Prior to retiring in 1992, he worked for the South Hackensack Police Department, for 25 years retiring at the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of PBA Local #102 of South Hackensack . He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. Pat was an avid Trumpet player who was in a band called the Meltones for over 50 years. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack . Beloved husband of the late Rose (nee Gallitano) who died in 1997. Devoted father of Patrick Mei and his wife Virginia of Gloversville, NY and the late Marilyn Varcadipane. Loving grandfather of Scott, Patrice and Bryan and great-grandfather of four. Dearest brother of Edith Duca, Jean Dooley and the late Louis Mei and Hank Mei. Pat is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many other close relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his sweetheart Victoria Cimiluca of Wayne , NJ . The Funeral on Thursday August 12, 2010 at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street , Hackensack , NJ . The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 12th, at 10:00 AM, at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street , Hackensack with burial following at at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack . Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
