Obituary of Pietro Carfi

PIETRO CARFI of Hackensack , died on Sunday March 1, 2009 at Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 87 years. Born in Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily , he came to this country in 1970. Prior to retiring in 1986, he worked as a Grounds Keeper for Edgewood Country Club for 16 years. He was a member of the Santa Croce Camerina Society of Hawthorne and a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack . Beloved husband for 58 years to Angelina (nee Iozzia). Loving father of Raffaele Carfi and his wife Joanne of Totowa, Salvatore Carfi and his wife Debra of Hackensack and Giuseppe Carfi and his wife Lori of Hawthorne. Cherished grandfather of Angelica, Pina, Adele, Claudia, Peter, Alyssa, Michael and a special soon to be great grand son. Dearest brother of the late Patsy Carfi, Giovanni Carfi, Natalizia Zisa, Pietrina Zisa and Salvatore Carfi. Pietro is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Funeral on Wednesday, March 4th, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street , Hackensack . The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 4th, at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street . Hackensack , at 10:00 AM with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery , Hackensack . Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
