Obituary of Michael Garafalo

MICHAEL GARAFALO of Hackensack , died on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 79 years. Before retiring in 1999 he worked for the City of Hackensack Housing Authority. Previously he had owned and operated Dependable Home improvements in Hackensack for over 22 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a Parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church of Hackensack . Michael was a carpenter by profession but he also enjoyed spending much of his time helping family and friends with their home projects. Beloved husband of the late Sophie G. (nee Cavallo) 1991. Devoted son of the late Frances and Sal Garafalo. Loving father of Michael Garafalo and his wife Sharon of Wash Twp. NJ and Ronald Garafalo of Wawayanda , NY . Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Meagan, Michael and Marco. Dearest brother of Marie Cafiero of Paterson, Sal Garafalo of Hackensack, Bob Garafalo of Newton and the late Mildred Garafalo. The Mass of Requiem will be held on Monday June 29 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, 72 Lodi Street , Hackensack , NJ . with burial following at Hackensack Cemetery. Visiting will be on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. .
