Obituary of Janet V. Lender

JANET HARRIET VAN WERT LENDER, of Hackensack, N.J., formerly of Mt. Tabor and West Caldwell, N.J., died on Wednesday, July 14, at 90 years of age. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Herman J. “Hank” Lender, sister of the late Marie, and mother of Mark E., Jonathan L., David T. and Paul A., and their American Field Service brother Lothar Dunkel of Münster, Germany. She was the loving grandmother and great-grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished artist and singer whose piano playing brightened many gatherings; an independent spirit; lover of the outdoors and Twin Lakes, PA., where she and her husband maintained a family home for three decades. She enjoyed a wide and warm circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service at Hackensack United Methodist Church, 400 Summit Avenue, on Monday at 2 p.m. Visiting will be on Sunday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Burial will be private in Milford, PA.
