Obituary of Richard Montalbano

RICHARD MONTALBANO, of Hamburg, formerly of Oradell, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the age of 79. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747, Hackensack. Prior to retiring he worked for the Bergen County Sheriff Department as a Court Officer for over 35 years, Richard also helped his father-in-law Louis Durante at Louis Barber Shop in Hackensack for many years. Beloved husband of 55 years to Nina (nee Durante). Devoted father of Richard Montalbano of Blairstown and Lori Krans and her husband Michael of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Dearest brother of Vincent James Montalbano and his wife Carol of Cliffside Park. Richard is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and a true companion Sophia his beloved Maltese. The Funeral on Friday March 23, 2012 at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s memory to your local E.M.S. Service.
