Obituary of Damien J. Owens
DAMIEN J. OWENS, of Hackensack (native of Inchicore, Dublin, Ireland) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Damien was a lifelong restaurant professional having a successful career in some of the finest NYC restaurants; The Four Seasons, The Rainbow Room and The Pierre Hotel. Currently he worked alongside his dear friend Barry at the Kilkenny House in Cranford, NJ. Beloved father of Brian Owens and his wife Karen of Browns Mills, and Steven Owens of Dumont. Devoted son of the late Christopher Owens and his wife Catherine (nee Delaney). Loving brother of Colette Mongey and her husband James of Morristown, and the late Declan and Donal Owens. Dear brother in law of Sue Owens of Ireland and Mary Owens of Mays Landing. Adored uncle of many nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Damien was a loving father, brother, uncle and genuine friend to many and offered loving support through difficult times. His favorite pastime was traveling to Ireland to visit. He loved golf, people and all that life had to offer. He will be greatly missed, especially his warm smile, generous heart and wonderful embrace. The funeral on Thursday, May 8th, at 9:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 - 8 PM.
