Raymond Bauer

Obituary of Raymond Bauer

Raymond T. Bauer, Jr., of Twinsburg, Ohio formerly of Cresskill, passed away on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at the age of 62. Raymond was a remarkable man, a loving and caring father, grandfather, friend, and husband. He was an amazing musician, playing both classical and jazz ensembles, a performance pianist and soloist, a composer and a poet. He was a genuinely kind and gentle soul who always found the good in everyone and everything. The world lost a true angel but we know he is watching over us and everyone who has had the pleasure of his presence. He touched the lives and hearts of all those who knew him.. to know him was to love him. Raymond was a performing pianist for many years… as a soloist, and with ensembles. More recently, he had performed in a musical duo with his partner Miranda both Jazz Artists. He acquired his Bachelor of Music Degree, Composition from Berklee College of Music and Graduate Studies at Boston University (School of Fine Arts) in Piano and Composition. He was a pianist in the New England Area from 1970-1980, in New York/New Jersey area from 1980-2001 and North East Ohio area from 2001-2015. All throughout his musical career, he has written music and poetry. In more recent years he had become more passionate about his poetry and creating writing. To date, he has written over 2000 poems, though he has only published a few despite his obsession. As Ray would say, "becoming known for one's passion, is much like devoting oneself to another profession." He also was a dispatcher for Sedlak International in Solon, Ohio. Previously he owned and operated Bauer Limousine in Cresskill for many years. Beloved husband of the late Susan (nee Corsie). Loving father of Raymond Bauer III and his wife Christina of Hackensack. Cherished grandfather of Arianna Bauer. Raymond also leaves behind his loving companion of 14 years Paula Miranda Smith of Twinsburg, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Monday evening for visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
