Obituary of Christopher B. Toomey

CHRISTOPHER (CHRIS) B. TOOMEY, of Hackensack, passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at the age of 56. He was born in Teaneck, NJ in 1959 and grew up on Lookout Ave in Hackensack, where most of the boys made their daily stops to "hang out." He attended Holy Trinity grade school in Hackensack and then went on to St. Cecilia's H.S. Englewood, After graduation Chris went to Stockton College and received a degree in Criminology. In 1986 he joined the Hackensack Police Department where he served the community as a Police Officer and Detective retiring after 25 years in 2010. In October 1989 he married Agatha Conti a native of Palermo, Italy who also lived and worked in Hackensack. Chris loved sports, making "All County" in baseball and football in H.S. and later becoming an avid golfer, often doing golf outings for fundraising to help the community. Chris loved reminiscing of "old times" hanging out with his friends and family, he will be missed by all. He was a member of PBA Local #9, a member of the B.P.O Elks #658, Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747 and a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church all in Hackensack. Beloved husband of Agatha A. (nee Conti) for 25 years. Devoted son of the late Edward and Lorraine (nee Loughman) Toomey. Dearest brother of Michael Toomey and his wife Donna of Oradell, Kevin Toomey and his wife Eileen of Norwood and Laurie Toomey of Hackensack, Loving uncle to Michael, Frank, Dennis, John, Nikolas, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Eric. Great uncle of Zoey, Cameron and Declan. Adored son-in-law of Concetta (nee Randazzo) and the late Salvatore Conti of Hackensack. Chris also leaves behind many close loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The Funeral on Saturday, July 25, at 8:30 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM.
