Obituary of Maria Elena Bordonaro

MARIA ELENA RUGGIERO BORDONARO of South Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the age of 83. Prior to retiring she was a supervisor for Goldberg Slipper Factory in Hackensack, she was a member of the Scoglitti Social Club in Elmwood Park, the South Hackensack Senior Citizens Group, a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Hackensack and a member of their St. Padre Pio Prayer group. Beloved wife of the late Sebastiano Bordonaro (2001). Loving mother of Nellie Tomic and her husband John of Paramus, NJ. Cherished grandmother of Joseph and Nicole and step-grandmother of John Tomic Jr. and family. Dearest sister of Anthony Ruggiero and his wife Connie of Totowa, Carmela Ruggiero and her husband Angelo of Italy, Christopher Ruggiero and his wife Anna of Italy, Lucia Ruggiero and her husband Nele of Italy and the late Angela Sudano. Maria is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. The funeral will begin on Thursday, December 31, at 8:15 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack. Entombment will follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 – 5 & 7 – 9 PM.
