Obituary of Concetta Terando

Concetta "Connie" Terando of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully with family and friends by her bedside at Peppi's House Hospice on Monday, January 4th, 2016 at the age of 97. Connie was a homemaker and mother and for 50 years, worked as a seamstress in Manhattans' garment district until her retirement in 1980. She was a parishioner of Mt. Carmel Church in Tenafly, N.J. In 1987, Connie came to Tucson with her family and has loved Tucson ever sense. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Terando (1983) and loving mother of Rosemarie Sawyer and husband James. She is the cherished grandmother to Marie Sawyer, David Sawyer and wife Randi, and Elizabeth Abbott and husband Jason and great-grandmother to Nicholas and Connor Abbott. Dearest sister of James Loverchio, Carl Loverchio and his wife Marianne, and Tony Loverchio and his wife Lois. Connie is pre-deceased by two brothers, Rocco and Dominick Loverchio and a sister, Laura M. Dugas. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM through 12:00 PM with a prayer service at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus N.J. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center, 2329 E. Ajo Way, Tucson AZ and/or the Pima Animal Control Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Rd. Tucson, AZ.
