Obituary of John W. Rowe
John "Jack" W. Rowe III, , 87 of Hackensack, NJ died on Saturday, March 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in the Radburn section of Fair Lawn, eventually settling with his family in Hackensack. . He is survived by his devoted wife, Angelina R. (nee Perone) Rowe of 61 years; his two children, Kathy Flood and her husband James of Fayetteville, NC, Patricia Brown and her husband Ted of Ramsey, NJ, as well as his five grandchildren: Jennifer Whitaker and her husband William, Patricia Flood, Rhiannon Brown, Reilly Brown and Shannon Brown. He is survived by his sister, Claire Neal of Owensboro, KY, and brother, F. Warren Rowe, of Albuquerque, NM. Jack is predeceased by his mother, Francis Budd Rowe his father John W. Rowe II; and his sisters Mary Budd Rowe and Jean Rowe. A Veteran of the US Army, he proudly served his country in the 1st Calvary Division during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking and Seton Hall University and was employed by Oritani Savings & Loan for 33 years where he became Vice President. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747, Hackensack, he enjoyed birding, hiking and taking long walks with his wife before he became ill. He treasured family time the most and will be sadly missed by all.
The Funeral on Wednesday March 9th at 8:45 AM from thefuneral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Holy Trinity Church, 34 Maple Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601 or the Veterans Memorial Home at Paramus, 1 Veterans Drive, Paramus, NJ 07652 or Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, PO Box 476, Convent Station, NJ 07961-0476.
