Obituary of Salvatore Robert Garofalo

SALVATORE "BOB" GAROFALO, of South Hackensack passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the age of 90. Prior to retiring he owned and operated Garofalo Scrap Metal in Hackensack for over 35 years. Bob had a great passion for horse racing, he also owned and trained horses that ran at the Meadowlands. Beloved husband of the late Victoria A. (nee Plati). Devoted father of Beverly Castronovo and her husband Charles of South Hackensack and Robert Garofalo and his wife Nancy of Saddle Brook. Cherished grandfather of Charles and his wife Christine, Renee and her husband Barry, Melissa and her husband Peter and Kristen and her husband Mauro. Loving great grandfather of eight great grandchildren. The funeral will begin on Wednesday March 30, at 9:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM for visitation.
