Obituary of Pat D. Smeriglio
Pat D. Smeriglio, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 82 years. Prior to retiring, he was the doorman at the Carlyle Apartments on Prospect Avenue in Hackensack for 21 years. An Army Veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the purple heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Freehold. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Hackensack. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ellen K. Driscoll Smeriglio, three daughters, Annette Jones and her husband Bob of New Port Richey, Florida, Teresa Smeriglio of North Wales, Pennsylvania, and Patricia Lewman and her husband Jim of Tucson, Arizona, his grandchildren, Robert, Gina, Lisa, and Troy, his great grand daughter Bryanna, his sister, Marie Sanzari of Maywood, his brother in law, Jeff Driscoll and his wife Joanne of Little Egg Harbor, three sister in laws, Paula Haak and her husband Mike of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Norma Jean Ford and her husband Mike of Warminster, Pennsylvania and Barbara Musser and her husband Norman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 13th, at 10:00 AM, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack, Reverend Gerard J. Graziano officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will be on Thursday evening from 7 - 9 PM and Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
