Obituary of Katherine Smith

Katherine "Kate" DiMassino Smith, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, died on Friday, September 1, 2006, at Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 86 years. Prior to retiring in 1983, she was a dietary aide at Hackensack University Medical Center. She was a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack. Predeceased by her son Bernard Smith who died in 1970, a sister Adeline Minnella and two brothers, Pasquale DiMassino and George DiMassino, and four brother in laws, Raymond Perlowski, Sam Minnella, Edumand Armani, and Frank Meliti, she is survived by three sisters, Helen J. Perlowski of Hackensack, Lorraine Armani of Hackensack and Theresa Meliti of Hackensack, her nephews, George and Diane DiMassino Jr, and their daughter Thea DiMassino, and Sam and Elizabeth Minnella and their sons, Sam Minnella and Thomas Minnella, and great aunt to Erika, Kevin and Jared. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will be on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
