Obituary of Veronica E. Garaventa

Veronica E. Garaventa, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, January 6, 2017, at Hackensack University Medical Center, at the age of 94 years. Prior to retiring, she was an administrator of the Benefits Department for ExxonMobil in New York City. She was a parishioner at Holy Trinity R. C. Church of Hackensack, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a volunteer at the school library. She also volunteered at the Maywood Library and the St. Francis School tuition department of Hackensack. She was a member of the Columbiettes of Trinity Council # 747 of Hackensack and the Older is Better at Felician College of Lodi. Beloved daughter of the late George and Johanna Rottkamp Garaventa. Dearest sister of the late Frances Lorfink, Louise Fuller and George Garaventa. Cherished aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12th, at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, with burial following at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM. The family prefers, in lieu of flowers, that you honor her memory with a memorial donation to St. Francis Friends of the Poor, 155 West 22nd Street, Floor 1, NY, NY 10114-1168.
