Obituary of Ellen R. Dec

ELLEN RUTH DEC, beloved daughter of Edward and Felixia Dec, was born at East Orange General Hospital on April 10, 1951. She was a life-long resident of Wood Ridge. She graduated from Wood-Ridge High School, then from Berkeley Business School. Ellen began her career as an executive secretary at Scovill in New York City. She was a lovely, intelligent woman who loved her family and friends. Ellen was an avid supporter of Focas animal rescue and through the years adopted many cats and dogs, giving them a good home. Her favorite pastimes were the theatre, Mets games, photography, dinner dates, and summer days at the Jersey Shore. Her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who have gone before have now welcomed her with open arms. As were here on earth miss her laughter and her good nature. The funeral on Saturday, February 24 at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM at the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady, 143 1st Street, Wood-Ridge, with burial following at St. Michael's Cemetery in South Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 – 9 PM and Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM.
