Obituary of Anthony J. Cordello

ANTHONY J. CORDELLO, of Hackensack, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of Melissa D. Cordello (nee Wellington). Anthony J Cordello, resident of Hackensack, NJ, formerly of Ridgewood NJ, and Franklin Square NY, passed away on March 4, 2018 at the age of 75. He spent his career in international banking, working for various New York City-based banks in addition to working for the New York State Banking Department. He retired from banking in April, 2015.

He earned several degrees, attending Queens College, NYU, and Fordham University. He also was an adjunct professor at NYU.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Wellington, of Hackensack, NJ, daughter Jennifer Rose Cordello of Hewlett, NY, son Anthony Richard Cordello of Boston, MA, stepson Ondre Wellington, his two sisters Connie and Rory, three grandchildren, Diane, Georgina, and Antonio, nieces and nephews and many close friends. 

Anthony loved good food, the opera, traveling. He enjoyed playing scrabble, sudoku, crossword puzzles, and watching Giants games, the Food Network, Jeopardy, and NCIS shows.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 10:00 a.m to 12 noon at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 50 McLean Blvd, Paterson, NJ 07513.
