Obituary of Joseph Sallemi

Joseph Sallemi, of Oakland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the age of 71 years. Born in Santa Croce, Italy he came to this country in 1954 settling in Hackensack, and lived in Oakland for 38 years. Prior to retiring in 2015, he was the Co-owner of AAA Anzalone Fence Company of South Hackensack. He was a member of the Troast Athletic Club of Hackensack, a member of the San Giuseppe Santa Croce Camerina Society of Hawthorne, Past President and member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Fence Association and former coach of the Girls Ramapo Wild Cats Soccer League. Joe loved gardening, walking on the beach and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Beloved husband of Nancy E. (nee Capece) for 43 years. Devoted father of Anne Marie Scarabaggio and her husband Marco of Wood Ridge, and Christina Reevey and her husband Dwayne of Belford. Cherished grandfather of Giulio Giovanni, Joseph Marco and Dwayne Leon. Dearest brother of Ross Sallemi and his wife Josephine of South Hackensack, Peter Sallemi and his wife Mary of Barnegat, and Emma Anzalone and her husband Fred of Barnegat. The funeral on Saturday, October 6th, at 8:45 AM, from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 72 Lodi Street Hackensack with entombment following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 - 9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
