Obituary of Carmela D Nardozza
Carmela D. Nardozza (nee Sgro), of Maywood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the age of 83 years. Prior to retiring she worked as an executive secretary at Burns and Roe of Oradell. Carmela was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church of Maywood. She was a member of the Golden Age Club of Maywood, the Maywood Senior Citizens, and the Red Hats of Maywood. Carmela also volunteered at the Adler Aphasia Center of Maywood, where she helped post stroke victims. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings, traveling, knitting, and trips to Atlantic City. She was a kind and generous individual who always put the needs of others before her own. She was the cornerstone of her family. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Nardozza Sr. who died in 2008. Devoted mother of Joanne Kapinus of Maywood, Joseph Nardozza and Terri of Maywood, and the late Gary Nardozza who died in 2017. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan, Jill, Cosmo, and Brianna. Dearest sister of Mary Mcdurga of Tamarac, FL and the late Rudolph Sgro. Loving sister in law of Rosemarie Sgro of Bowie, MD. Adored aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral on Friday, January 18th, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church with entombment following at Garden of Memories of Washington Township. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 – 8 PM.
