John was a constant and cheery force for good in the Bergen CC digital world. Regardless of the upheavals of administration, us faculty knew we could call John when things went wrong, and he would find a rapid and effective solution. He was so prized many people would go around the help desk, and contact him directly. I learned to contact the help desk then call John, so he could be properly credited. He didn't care either way, he would solve our problems with a smile and enjoyable conversation. He was dedicated to finding the best solutions to help us teach, and he was never condescending or rude (when, truth be told, he had reason to be both). He will be greatly missed. I always worried a bit that he was spending too much time at work, and not enough at home. But he would not go until he knew everything was working. His dedication to his job helped countless professors and students in their work, most of them never knowing him. The saying "When You Do Things Right, People Won’t Be Sure You’ve Done Anything at All" applies to John more than most. He did things right and then stayed to make sure they were right.
