Having only fond memories of all the years I knew Jason as a child, a young man, and dear sweet soul. He was always loving, kind, artistic, sweet and gentle. My deepest condolences to Kathleen, who was an impeccable mother, always loving and supportive and living her life with his best interests at heart. Al, a loving step parent, always ready to help. Jason, you will be forever missed, eternally loved, and life will not be the same without you in it. Take our hearts with you on your eternal life now in God's garden of love and remember us as we remember you. Praying for all grieving family and friends.

My step brother Jason was the same age as me. In fact, each time we would see each other, over the years, he would remind me. I found it funny that here I was trying to hide being 40, but he was so proud of it. But, that was his way. As teens, he had so many fascinating interests; sculpture, martial arts, music and was never afraid of sharing them. As I would see him over the years, he always had a big heart; always sharing, hugs, and good to see you. I will miss running into him. I will miss the joy he brought to my family, especially Paul, his father. His father loved him dearly, and it was apparent how much he cherished their time together. We will all miss you Jason. Rest in Peace.

My stepbrother was truly one of a kind and I don’t expect to ever meet someone half as interesting nor passionate for as long as I remain on Earth. He was the first person to ask me whether I preferred brains or beauty — A tough question for a ten-year-old, but I went with mind over matter — and I cannot recall a single time he was anything but kind to me. Jay loved Japan, vinyl records and body art. He did wicked impressions, asked deep, probing questions, was fearless as all get-out. I pray for peace to befall all those who grieve his loss, most of all his parents, step-parents and BIG hugs to brother, Jesse.
Jason left us far too young. Rest in love, brother ♥️

I was truly, SO SORRY to hear about Jason's passing. He and his family bring back such wonderful memories from the Fairmount School days! Kathy...I have no words! A big virtual hug for all of you. I STILL have the little clay figurine that Jason made of me when he was in the 5th grade. Yellow suit , bow tie, and a big, drink umbrella! I will cherish it even more now!
Warmly,
Joe LaMattina

My Son Jason - besides his Mom and Step-Father Al, Jason comes from a large family of siblings that love him very much. He has his brother Jesse, but he also has another step-brother and 3 step-sisters who all got along very well growing up. They have had Jason in their hearts for the past 26 years along with his loving Step-Mother, Diane. When Jason was around 3 years old, he would get up with me every morning and help me make our breakfast and my lunch for work. He would follow me around with my key ring hanging from his mouth. My pet name for him was "Jugie." When I came home, he would run to me with hugs and kisses. I used to walk around with him on my shoulders and he would be so proud he would say to people around, "I'm on Daddy's shoulders!" Later on he would sculpture little figurines out of clay. He was so talented and gifted. He also got into music, especially 60's & 70's and I gave him my entire LP Record Collection which he enjoyed thoroughly and we discussed them all the time. He knew so much about the albums. We would take rides up to Harriman Park and play music such as Santana, Moody Blues, Beatles, Cat Stevens and he LOVED Psychedelic groups! As an adult, I was very fortunate to be able to take my son out to dinner almost every week and once in a while go to an upscale restaurant, which he would dress up for and he loved it. I will miss Jay more than you know. May he rest in Peace knowing he was loved very much by so many, especially his Dad.

To my good friend Kathleen. I send my deepest condolences. We met on the pre-k line at Fairmount over 37 years ago when Jason and DoraMae were fours years old. If I could reach to heaven and bring Jason back I would but I can't. My prayer is for God to wrap his arms around you and send his comforting angels to surround you. My sympathy to you, his dad, Jessie, Al and the entire family.

Jason became my step brother when I was 3 years old. He loved music and would listen to records and his walk man. He was very artistic and would mold incredible little figurines then proudly show them to us. He was very special to our family and I just pray that his parents find comfort in knowing he is with God now. We love you Jay May you rest eternally and peacefully.

Jay was my crate digger/ record shop Buddy. Every place we’d go Jay would school someone on the 1960s psychedelic rock. He was 17 years my Junior and he taught me A lot about 60s rock. He would make friends where ever we’d go! His love of music and his vinyl record collection was one of the things he’d share with anyone who wanted. I’m a better person to have had jay in my life for 41 years, I was bless to have those days hunting for that one record to add to our collections. And I was honored to have been his uncle! I think the most fitting words right now would be from one of those 60s bands.
Days- The Kinks.
Thank you for the days
Those endless days, those sacred days you gave me
I'm thinking of the days
I won't forget a single day, believe me
I bless the light
I bless the light that lights on you believe me
And though you're gone
You're with me every single day, believe me
Days I'll remember all my life
Love uncle Joe.
