Obituary of Steve Martino Jr.
Steve Martino Jr. of Hackensack , passed away on Saturday February 27, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Born on December 28, 1936 in Santa Eufemia , Italy . He immigrated to the United States along with seven brothers and sisters in the 1950s. Prior to retiring he worked as a Head Carpenter for United Water Company in Oradell and HUMC Security, he was a Past Grand Knight and a former Columbian Club President of The Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #747, Hackensack, for 55+ years, where he worked tirelessly in all aspects for the Knights of Columbus, he was also instrumental in helping to erect the Hackensack Ford Fireman Memorial, he was a member of the Bishop O'Conner 4th Degree Assembly and former member of the City of Hackensack Planning Board, Steve was also a parishioner and an usher at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. He enjoyed playing the Lottery, bowling with his brother Knights and bus trips with the Socialites Club of St. Francis. Everyone knew him and loved him. Beloved husband of 52 years to the late Rose Marie (nee Sgro) 2011. Loving father to Stephen Philip Martino and Laura Lynn D'Amico and her husband Joseph. Cherished Pop Pop to Joseph Stephen and Julianne Rebecca. The Funeral will begin on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 9:45 AM at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street , Hackensack , NJ . The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church , 34 Maple Avenue , Hackensack . Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Washington Twp. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM for visitation.
