Obituary of Carol Ventura

Carol A Ventura, April 13, 1945 – May 13, 2021 - Carol A. Ventura, was born to the late Michael Salvatore Ventura and Theresa Ventura (formerly Theresa Marrone) of Weehawken, NJ on April 13, 1945. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Bove (nee) Ventura, nephew Michael Bove, and his wife, Frances. She is also survived by her beloved companion, William J. Gaynor. Her life tragically ended on May 13, 2021 after being hit by a moving vehicle while taking her daily late afternoon walk in her Hackensack, NJ neighborhood. Recently retired after more than 25 years as a Sales Administration Manager at ET Browne Drug Co., Inc. Carol had been embracing her retirement and looking forward to spending more time with her cherished companion, Will Gaynor. Born in North Hudson Hospital in Weehawken, NJ, Carol grew up in North Bergen, attended Horace Mann Grammar School, was a graduate of North Bergen High School, went on to earn her BS at Montclair College and became a school teacher. Living in northern NJ most of her life, Carol was an avid and loyal Yankees and Giants fan. She took pride in vast knowledge of her teams and frequently was eager to share her assessments of recent games, team, and player performance analysis. Her self-confidence was consistently exhibited in her impeccable appearance by being appropriately attired and smartly coiffed. As both an advocate and an early Weight Watchers customer, Carol placed much value on living a healthy lifestyle - a testimony to her discipline and commitment to her health. She applied these qualities to her professional life with an exemplary and diligent work ethic. Carol also had a wonderful love of travel and enjoyed working at ET Browne Drug Co., Inc, where she learned the business and grew to be a highly valued, well respected, and dependable employee. She took pride in her work and genuinely enjoyed her work colleagues. Always modest about sharing her accomplishments, her charms included her bashful manner in revealing her many promotions and increases in responsibilities. Carol also leaves behind devoted and long-term friends. She was generous with her time and support in any time of need. Her open heart and down-to-earth sensibility were shown through patience, empathy, sincere interest in others, and her loving positive spirit. A service will be held on Friday, June 4th, 11:00 AM, at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of Carol's life at Nanni's Restaurant, 53 West Passaic Street, Rochelle Park, NJ. (201) 843-1250.
