Obituary of Donald E Kersta

Donald E. Kersta, 77 of Saddle Brook, entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2021. Donald was born in Hackensack Hospital to the late Edward and Beatrice Kersta, he graduated from Saddle Brook High School in 1964 and studied Mechanic's at Bergen County Vocational Tech School. He proudly worked as an Auto Inspector for the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles for many years. Donald was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1506 Ridgefield Park. Donald loved the Ocean, Lakes, Boating and Fishing they were his passion, and he was also a big fan of the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants. Don didn't have any of his own children, but Michael, Marcelo & Jaxson became his adopted grandkids through his best friend Laura Diaz, that's why he was known as Papa Don. A prayer service will be held 8:30 PM, on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home for visitation.
