Obituary of Giovanna Careri

Giovanna Careri (nee Pitasi), of Little Ferry, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born in Pellegrina di Bagnara Calabra, Italy and came to the United States in 1966. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona Church, Little Ferry. Beloved wife of the late Domenico Careri (2008). Loving mother of Carmela Migale and her late husband Giuseppe of Little Ferry, Caterina Federico and her husband Frank of Little Ferry and Frances Careri of Little Ferry. Devoted daughter of the late Francesco Pitasi and Caterina Pitasi (Florio). Cherished nonna of Stefania Migale Davi, Lorenzo Migale and his wife Cheryl, Christina Davi and her husband Marco and Frank Federico. Great-nonna of Matthew, Luca, Dominic, Daniella, Luciana, Marco, Lorenzo, Milania and Valentina. Dearest sister to the late Vincenzo Pitasi, Paolo Pitasi, Carmine Pitasi and Domenico Pitasi. Giovanna also leaves behind many cherished brother and sister-in-laws and several loving nieces and nephews. The Funeral on Saturday August 14, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 31 Chamberlain Ave, Little Ferry, NJ at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation.
