Obituary of Benedetto F. Paolella

Benedetto F. Paolella. "Benny" of Manahawkin, formerly of Hackensack and Delaware, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 91. Prior to retiring he worked in the Traffic Department for the Hackensack Police Department for 25 years, prior he worked for the Hackensack Fire Department as a Fireman/Paramedic for 25 years. Benny was one of the first Paramedics in the State of New Jersey, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1948 – 1952, he was a Life Member of the B.P.O Elks Paramus Lodge #2001 and a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. Beloved husband for 69 years to Filomena M. (nee DeVincentis). Loving father of Deborah Montel and her husband Michael Barlettano, Bruce Paolella and Doreen Paolella. Cherished grandfather of Lisa Ann, Julie Marie and her husband Andrew, Rachel Ann and her husband Colin and Kelly Ann, great-grandfather to Dominic. Dearest brother of Angelo Paolella Jr. and his wife Marie, and the late Pat Paolella and Mary DaPice. Benny is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many loving cousins. The Funeral will begin on Thursday November 18, 2021, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 PM for visitation.
