Obituary of Leonard B. Falato

Leonard B. Falato. of South Hackensack , passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 79. Prior to retiring he worked as a Construction Code Official for the City of Hackensack from 1988 – 2004, he also worked for the State of New Jersey as a Code Consultant and was a plumber by trade. He was a former Mayor and Councilman in South Hackensack, a former Fire Chief of the South Hackensack Fire Company #2 and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Hackensack . Beloved husband of 54 years to Anita (nee Mazzoni). Loving father of Lorrie Lengyel and her husband Ted, Jamie Ziegelhofer and her husband Bryan, and the late Leonard S. Falato (1989). Cherished grandfather of Tyler , Summer, Brian, Trey and Danica. Dearest brother of Grace Panagia and her husband William and Doris Iacono and her husband Phillip and the late John Falato and his surviving spouse Josephine. Leonard also leaves behind many loving and caring nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral will begin on Thursday June 9, 2022, at 8:45AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street , Hackensack , NJ . The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue , Hackensack at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery , Hackensack . The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.
