Obituary of Verne I. Jennings

Verne Isaac Jennings was born April 9, 1938 to Helena Foy and James Isaac Jennings Sr. in St. Thomas U.S Virgin Islands where he attended school and graduated from Charlotte Amalie high school. Verne served his country in the Army late mid 50s to early 60s. He Later moved from the virgin Islands to Brooklyn NY then to Hackensack NJ. Verne went on to pursue a boxing career from 1962 -1965 following his cousin Emile Griffith and won golden glove championship in NJ along with other trophies and awards. Vern is survived by his Brother Robert Jennings and his sisters Verna Matos and Alana Scabriel, brother in-law Lubin Scabriel and sister in-law Sandra Jennings his long time companion Louise Mills and his children Claudette, Debbie, Andre, Eolannie, Paulette, Vern, Gretta and Tracey whom he raised as his own and all his nieces and nephews host of cousins and all other family and friends
