Obituary of Andrea Bracchitta

Andrea Bracchitta, of Maywood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Andrea was born in Scicli, Sicily, Italy and came to the United States in 1964. Prior to retiring he worked as a painter for Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church in Hackensack. Beloved husband for 64 years to Giovanna (nee Blundo). Loving father of Maria Carollo and her husband Vincent of South Hackensack, and Angela Hernandez and her husband Jose of Miami, Florida. Cherished grandfather of Angelo, Melissa, Danielle, Andrew, Tiziana, Sergio, Briana and Alexis. Great grandfather of Lorenzo, Giabella, Valentino, Esmeralda, Madison, Achilles, Heather and Leonidas. Dearest brother of Maria Bracchitta and her late husband Isidoro, Antoinette Mauthe and her husband Edward and Joseph Bracchitta and his wife Irma. Andrea is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Funeral will begin on Tuesday, January 24, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, with entombment following at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Washington Twp.
