Obituary of Josephine Scordo

Josephine Scordo (nee Barila) of Washington Twp., formerly of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born in Bagnara, Reggio Calabria, Italy and came to the United States in 1949. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Church, Hackensack. Beloved wife of Carmelo Scordo for 70 years. Cherished mother of Maria Rose MacDonald, Silvana Corcoran and Frank Scordo. Cherished Grandmother of six grandchildren and Great- Grandmother of two great-grand children. She is survived by a sister, Vincenza Borrometi and by many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi St, Hackensack, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, with entombment following at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Washington Twp., NJ. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM for visitation at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack.
