Obituary of Rosemarie E. Mucaro

Rosemarie Elizabeth Mucaro (Nee Carogana) of Hackensack, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Rosemarie was born in Lower Manhatten, NY to Rosario (Sam) Carogana and Angelina Carogana (Impallomeni) on December 18th, 1931. She was the youngest of the family, and loved her 4 siblings, Marie (Mary), Nicolina (Nikki), Helen, and Anthony, and their families dearly. Rosemarie was a high school graduate, and held various secretarial jobs in New York City. It is there that she met her husband Salvatore Mucaro. They were married in 1958, and lived in Jackson Heights, NY, until moving to Maywood, NJ in 1966, along with many of her siblings as well. Rosemarie took so much joy in raising her 3 children, cooking, baking and being involved in all their school activities. Her true passion was singing and acting, and she would be involved in numerous productions by the Maywood Women's club, the Country Suppers at Our Lady Queen of Peace, and years later at the Bergen County Players in Oradell, NJ. Later years, after becoming single again, Rosemarie met her long time partner, the late, Jim O'Neil. Rosemarie became very close to Jim's family as well, including his son Jimmy and his wife Lolly, and their son James. Rosemarie moved to Hackensack in 1990, where she would spend the rest of her years. She was a dedicated parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Hackensack, and thoroughly enjoyed being involved in their Christmas Choir and their very special Rosary Society. Prior to Covid, Rosemarie enjoyed 14 years working at the Hackensack YMCA, along with her sister in law Madge Carogana. She truly enjoyed helping, and getting to know the members of the YMCA. Rosemarie is survived by her ex husband, Salvatore Mucaro, of Fenrandina Beach, FL, her three children and their spouses, Tory and Lisa Mucaro, Damian and Cindy Mucaro, and Beth and Frank Pinto, her eight grand children and their spouses Nicole and Ryan Hall, Dante and Maren (Morsch) Mucaro, Giuliana, Daniel, Scott, Allison, Ronnie and Jason, and her 2 great grandchildren, Conrad and Calvin Hall. She also leaves behind her dear sister in law, Deanna Schwam, and many many nieces, nephews and their children and grand children. She also leaves behind her dear cat and companion Tigone. Visitation will be held at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Thursday, June 1st, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
