Obituary of Richard Henry Rau

Richard Henry Rau III, of Katy, TX, and formerly of Hackensack and Hasbrouck Heights NJ, passed away on April 15, 2023. He was born in Rahway, NJ on May 4, 1944. He is survived by his wife, Xiao Lin, and his children, Alex Rau, Richard Rau, Stacey Vozeh, his son-in-law Christian Vozeh, and grandsons Sebastian and Simon Vozeh. He was predeceased by his parents, Flora and Richard Rau, and his siblings, John Rau, and Susan Sullivan. He was a teacher at Hackensack High School for over 40 years before retiring. He served in the army and was the recipient of the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. Please bring a photo and/or a memory to share.
