Obituary of Niccolo Alicandri

Niccolo Alicandri passed away at home on 29 June 2023. He will be missed by many, but especially by his father, Frank Alicandri, his siblings and their spouses, Hank Alicandri (Kim), Herb Alicandri (Debbie), Beth Alicandri (Bloke), Peter Alicandri (Robin), Matthew Alicandri (Sarah), John Alicandri (Aileen), Frank Alicandri (Nats), Steven Alicandri, David Alicandri (Nikka), Victoria Surdykowski (Marek) and Thomas Alicandri (Kelly). He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sarah and his devoted mother, Anne (Tuggy) Alicandri. Niccolo loved and doted on both his Alicandri-variety nieces and nephews (Athena, Frank, Sammy, Frankie, Livvy, Brennan, Max, August, Ben, Petey, Nic, Mikey, Julia, Victoria, Luke, Jack, Fiona, Owen, Oscar, Edie, Oliver, Ben, Cam, Liam, Joe & Riley), his Shanahan nieces (Quinn and Casey) and great niece and nephew (Delilah and Niccolo). He was the kind of uncle that showed up for the major and minor events, and he will be sorely missed by all his nieces and nephews. Niccolo's joie de vivre was apparent to all who knew him. He loved to travel, particularly to Ireland, where he enjoyed the craic, and his laughter and joy were returned full fold by companions who became mates. He traveled and camped across the United States, sharing his particular brand of fun and excitement with strangers and friends. Niccolo enjoyed all sporting activities, turning the river house into a sportsmen's paradise. He played and followed hockey, and was an avid skier, golfer (traditional and disc) and fire watcher. Niccolo followed in a long family tradition of admiring silver spoons. Niccolo was never at a loss for joke or a smile, and was always willing to jump in the car to run an errand - whether it took ten minutes or ten hours. There was a little bit of perfection in everything he did. As we celebrate Niccolo's life we have to ask: What would Niccolo do? Raise a glass and find a reason to laugh. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Monday, July 3, 2023 at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 2, from 3:00 - 9:00 PM for visitation at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack.
