Obituary of Gregory Stellakis

Gregory Stellakis, 86 of Hackensack, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 20, 2023. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 – 1957, prior to retiring he worked as a Detective for the Hackensack Police Department for many years, he was also a Past President of Hackensack PBA Local #9. Gregory dedicated his life to serving his community and his country. Beloved husband of the late Roberta Ann (nee Weissleder) 2010. Loving father of Denise Stellakis-Diaz and her husband Augie, Anthony Stellakis and his wife Janet, Rene Long and her husband Phillip Sr., Craig Stellakis and his wife Kelly and Catherine Stellakis-Mann. Cherished grandfather of Lizzy, Emily, Phillip and his wife Shannon, Talia Rose and her husband Darius, Samantha, Nicholas and Gavin. Great-grandfather of Aliza, Harley, Savanah, Zhara, Charlotte, Rowan and Riley. Dearest brother of Carol Claus, Pete Stellakis and his wife Pat and the late Mary Fiola. Gregory is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his fellow brothers and sisters in blue. The family will receive friends at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Tuesday, July 25th, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation. A Prayer Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 26th at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack.
