Obituary of Donna L. Lampone

Donna L. Lampone (nee Hobatuk) of Long Beach Island, NJ, formerly of Hackensack, NJ, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the age of 61. Donna, an accomplished pianist, Hackensack High School cheerleader, gymnast and swimmer, was multi-talented. She was also an avid sports fan — always watching her boxing, Yankees, and Dallas Cowboys with family and friends. Donna graduated from William Paterson College with degrees in Music and Spanish Literature in 1984, achieving native proficiency in Spanish when she studied abroad in Columbia. She later enjoyed a successful import-export career with Schneider Freight. Donna was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack. She is predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Antoinette Hobatuk. Left to cherish her memory are her dearest sister, Patricia Hobatuk and her husband Mark Pierce of Maitland, Florida, her many beloved cousins, extended family members, many close friends who she was always ready to help at a moments notice and especially her cherished "Pookie". Donna, known for her kindness and free-spirit, was also a dedicated aunt and godmother to many. She has left a mark on a new generation as well as on everyone else. She will forever be greatly missed by all. The Funeral will begin from G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Monday July 31, at 9:45AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi St. Hackensack, Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
