Obituary of Fiorello G. Abbruzzesi

Fiorello G. Abbruzzesi, of Paramus passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born on January 19, 1947 in Ceramida, Calabria, Italy. He started working as a masonry apprentice at the age of 12. At the age of 16, he moved to Germany with his father and brother to help provide for his family. He moved to the United States in 1986 with his wife and 3 children. A short time later he opened his own business, Fiorello Tile Company. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working in his garden, and making his homemade wine. His favorite pastime was going to flea markets and hunting for the best bargains. In true Fiorello strength and fortitude, he fought a 17 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He will be dearly missed by his family. Beloved husband to Giuseppina (nee Fedele) for 56 years. Loving father to Giuseppe Abbruzzesi and his wife Danielle, Maria Carmela Carollo and her husband Joseph, and Angela Loor and her husband Cristian. Cherished grandfather to Cristian Jr., Sofia, Marisa and Emilia. Dearest brother of Francesco Abbruzzesi, Domenico Abbruzzesi, Vincenzo Abbruzzesi and Carmelo Abbruzzesi and their families. The Funeral will begin from G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Saturday January 27, at 8:00AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 9:00AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi St. Hackensack, with entombment following at Madonna Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, Fort Lee. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 26, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM for visitation at the Funeral Home.
