Obituary of Walter Saladino
Walter Saladino, age 80, of Saddle Brook, NJ originally from West New York, NJ and resided in Maywood, NJ for over 30 years passed away on February 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 29, 1943, in Jersey City to Marie and Salvatore Saladino. He is pre-deceased by his late brothers Frank and Peter Saladino. Walter attended Memorial High School in West New York. Walter served his country with honor in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He dedicated himself to his work as a machinist, contributing his skills to Sier-Bath in North Bergen, NJ and Acme Gear in Englewood, NJ. Devoted husband to Eleanor Saladino, loving father to his son Steven and his wife Eileen Saladino, his daughter Lianne and husband Vinny Pompeo. He also was a cherished grandfather to Matthew, Michael, Aidan, Ella, and Sophia. Walter's family was the center of his world. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were touched by his love and warmth. Walter will be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family, his passion for playing the lottery, and his talent for sharing jokes that brought joy to his family and friends. His kind heart and sense of duty always guided him to put others before himself. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4th from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service on Tuesday, March 5th at 11:00 am at G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street Hackensack, NJ. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
