Obituary of Pauline I. Austin

Pauline I. Austin (nee Shields), of Waldwick, formerly of Hackensack, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Born in Dublin, Ireland she lived in Hackensack for 55 years. Prior to retiring, she worked as a secretary for Becton & Dickinson in East Rutherford for many years. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church in Hackensack, where she also volunteered for many years in the Rectory Office. Beloved wife for 51 years to the late William C. Austin (2014). Devoted mother of Sean Austin and wife Tanny, Catherine Vazquez and husband Jose, Geraldine Martinez and husband Daniel, and Brian Austin. Cherished grandmother of Allana, Louana, Gaetana, Olivia, Michael, Christina, Marc, William, Lorraine, Emma, Jack and the late Sean. Adored great grandmother of Valentina, Anabella, Julian and Clark William. Dearest sister of the late Maria O'Callaghan and Bernadette White. Pauline also leaves behind her special nieces & nephews Cathy White, Natalie White, Maurice White, Joyce & Brian O'Reilly, Phillipa White, Thomas & Kimberly Donohoe and Anne & Charles Gobel. The Funeral will begin on Thursday, March 21, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
