Joyce Frances (Demler) Loew
Joyce Loew, 73, from Monsey, New York, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024 at Hackensack University Medical Center, after a courageous year-long battle with esophageal cancer. Born on December 10, 1950 in Hackensack, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Herbert and Doris Demler. Joyce graduated from Pascack Valley High School, in 1969 and spent many years as an administrative assistant at Centrico, followed by jobs at Silbo and most recently Avalara.
Joyce is survived by her sister Doris "Cathy" Olmstead from Mt. Bethel, PA; two nieces, Donna Olmstead Carr and her spouse William from Mt. Bethel, PA and Ann Olmstead from Flanders, NJ; cousins Tom Embleton and his sister Karen Embleton-Valido, and her very special friends Caroline Matuszewski and her partner Andrew, Jason Lopez, and Annette Latshaw.
Joyce enjoyed hiking, reading, and spending time with friends but her greatest love was her cats. She has fostered and owned many cats over the years and is survived by Smitten, Eddie and Jimmy.
A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held in the near future. Contributions in her memory may be made to a cat or animal rescue of your choice.
