Obituary of Rosemary Gentile

Rosemary Gentile, age 76, loving daughter, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. Rosemary was born December 29, 1948, in Queens, to Salvatore and Ann Catherine ("Kay") Gentile but considered Fairview as her hometown. She was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined Rosemary. They were part of who she was and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life's challenges. She was a strong fighter. She enjoyed crocheting for friends and family and spent countless hours making each of her grandchildren their baby blankets when they were born. She loved cooking and some of her favorite dishes were zeppoles, Pizza Gaina, meatballs, and homemade bread. Rosemary is survived by her mother, Kay, her Aunt Mary, her brothers Louis (Carol) and Bruce (Josephine), her beloved sons Ramon and John (Vanessa), and her six cherished grandchildren Nicole, John, Gabrielle, Christopher, Xavier, Zachary, along with many other family and friends. Rosemary was predeceased by her father, Salvatore, and ex-husbands Ramon and Richard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you kindly think of a memory you have of Rosemary, smile, and continue to remember her fondly. A Prayer Service will be held 12:00 Noon, on Monday, August 5th, 2024 at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM for visitation. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
