Obituary of Salvatore Vita

SALVATORE VITA, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 95 years. Born in Sant'Appollinare, Lazio, Italy. He was in the Italian army and emigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1953 where he worked in construction. He came to this country in 1956 settling in Hackensack. Prior to retiring, he worked at Bruno and D'Elia in Hackensack. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church of Hackensack. Beloved husband for 57 years of Angela (nee Meo). Devoted father of Gennaro Vita and his wife Susan of Washington Township, and Maria Clinton and her husband Charles of Washington Township. Cherished grandfather of Christine, Julia, Catherine, and Diana. Dearest brother of Maria Graniero and Rosina Rotondo of Canada, Lucia Del'Aquila of Italy, and the late Anna Vita, Emelia Vita, Giovanna Gigante, Antonio Vita, and Giuseppe Vita. Loving uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral on Wednesday, March 6th, at 8:45 AM, from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack, with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. s
