Obituary of George J. Harris

GEORGE J. HARRIS, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side, on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at his home, ,at the age of 81 years. Prior to retiring, he was the Superintendent at Hackensack Cemetery Company for more than 40 years. He served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Beloved husband for 60 years of Elsie (nee Hasten). Devoted father of Susan Hurley and her husband Robert of Oakland, George Harris Jr., of West Milford, and Diane Siciliano and her husband Joseph of Hewitt. Loving grandfather of Michael, Jessie, John , Ian, and Gina and 9 great grandchildren. Dearest brother of the late Evelyn Hasten. The funeral service at the funeral home, on Tuesday, January 29th, at 10:30 AM, Reverend Steven McClelland officiating, with burial following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 - 9 PM. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365 would be appreciated.
