Obituary of Martin H. Howe
MARTIN H. HOWE, of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 91 years. Born in New York, he lived in Maywood and has lived in Hackensack for 35 years. Prior to retiring he was a history teacher at Hasbrouck Heights High School for 40 years and was a member of the National and New Jersey Education Associations. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army proudly serving his country during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. of Hackensack. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Rider University where he was a member of the Alumni Association and his Masters Degree in Education from Montclair State University. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council # 747 of Hackensack. Beloved husband of Lulu (nee Gallardo). Devoted father of Sheila Taylor of Ocean Grove, Maureen Maute of Matamoras, PA and Eileen Howe of Maywood. Loving grandfather of Jason, Kristen, James, Katie, Ian and Sami. Cherished great grandfather of Ashley, Trevor, Ian, Alivia, Taylor and Kara. Dearest brother of the late Norma Sieglen. Dear uncle of Betty and Nancy and great uncle of Kathleen and George. The funeral on Saturday, May 3rd, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack with burial following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 - 4 ands 7 - 9 PM.
