Obituary of Thomas B. Johnson

THOMAS B. JOHNSON, JR., age 47, passed peacefully at home in Hackensack, NJ on August 12, 2013 after a long battle with colon cancer. Born September 25, 1965 in Bronx, NY to Thomas B. Johnson, Sr. and Luisa Mercedes Jerez. He is survived by his mother and sister, Elizabeth A. Johnson as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins in the United States, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Tommy was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Hackensack and worked at Urban Health Plan, Inc. in the Bronx for over 25 years, most recently in Materials Management. Tommy's passion included science fiction movies, music/deejaying and the New York Yankees. He was well known for his laid back attitude, childlike quality and big heart. All of these precious qualities were an inspiration to his sister/caregiver Liz, as Tommy taught her to live in the moment, be happy and embrace the simple things in life. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013, 3:00pm-7:00pm at Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 19th at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 34 Maple Street, Hackensack, NJ at 11:00am.
