Obituary of Gennaro Leonardi

GENNARO "JERRY" LEONARDI, of South Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the age of 84 years. Born in Hackensack, he resided in South Hackensack for 44 years. Prior to retiring he was a custodian at Memorial School in South Hackensack. Previously he was a custodian at Hackensack High School and prior he had worked for 30 years at Randa Neckwear in Hackensack as the head tie cutter. He was a parishioner of Church of the Immaculate Conception in Hackensack. Beloved husband for 55 years of Marilyn (nee Wetzel). Devoted father of Mary Monacchio and her husband Peter of Rochelle Park, Joseph Leonardi and his wife Janet of Round Rock, TX, Thomas Leonardi, and Melinda Leonardi, both of South Hackensack. Cherished grandfather of Peter, John, Melinda, Gabrielle, Alexander, Michael and Joseph. Dearest brother of Joseph Leonardi and his wife Gail of Little Ferry, and the late Paula Leonardi and Mildred Krieger. The funeral on Saturday, January 10th, at 8:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack with burial following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
